Job Description

Role 

We are looking to hire an experienced CNC Miller Operator/Turner for our production team. 

Based in our 90,000 sq ft factory in Coventry we are looking for miller and turners to work on the following shift pattern 

06:30 – 14:45 Monday to Thursday - 30 minute paid break, 06:30 – 12:30 Friday 15 minute paid break

19:30 – 06:00 Monday to Wednesday - 25 minute paid break and 30 minute unpaid break, 19:30 – 05:00 Thursday - 25 minute paid break and 30 minute unpaid break.

Night shift is 15% Allowance

Requirements 

Education:

  • Certificiate (GCSE) in Maths and English (or equivalent) 
  • Computer literate

Experience:

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment 
  • Understanding of technical drawings 
  • Previous CNC turning and operating experience

Responsibilities include:

  • To set and operate machines and processes in a safe and efficient manner.
  • To produce parts in accordance with route cards and technical drawings,
  • Ensure all parts are produced to schedule requirements and quality standards.
  • Work in adherence to the departmental procedures to achieve best in class service and maintain company quality procedures;
  • To set and operate production machines, equipment and auxiliary equipment (where trained) ensuring setting and run targets are achieved;
  • To carry out off-set changes, tooling and cutting tip changes as required;
  • To ensure quality requirements and checks, using appropriate measuring equipment are carried out and documented as required;
  • To ensure all required paperwork/labels are correctly completed and filed as necessary;
  • To ensure manufacturing shop floor data collection system is updated when required;
  • To ensure 6 ‘S standard is continually improved;
  • To carry out Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) activities;
  • To highlight any continuous improvement activities/opportunities;
  • To act in a safe manner and highlight any health and safety risks;
  • To work as part of team;
  • To train other operators if and when required;
  • To ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the company’s quality (TS19949) requirements;
  • To liaise with other Departments;
  • Any other Ad-hoc duties as required
