Job Description

Overall Aim

To provide NDT testing and quality inspections in relation on manufactured products and parts to meet company, customer requirements and regulatory specifications.

Outline of responsibilities

Working as part of the quality assurance team you will be required to:

  • Engage in product NDT inspection and quality improvement activities.
  • Development of NDT inspection processes.
  • Perform NDT inspection of sub-contract manufactured items.
  • Provide NDT support to the quality and manufacturing department to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Monitor NDT system, process and product performance and make. recommendations for improvements.
  • Use of inspection and test equipment;
    • physical inspection
    • quality inspection
    • visual inspection methods
    • non-destructive techniques
  • Liaise with all company departments regarding NDT related matters.
  • Maintenance of NDT equipment and required data for the company.
  • Conducting NDT quality related investigations and audits.
  • Ensure that responsibilities with regard to the company’s NDT Standards are met and understood.
  • To provide regular and appropriate testing and inspection of the final product prior to release to customer.
  • To compile and document all required NDT reports and supporting documentation.

Knowledge and Skill requirements

  • MPI & DP qualifications/experience.
  • Previous experience of working in a Mechanical/Inspection environment.
  • Knowledge of NDT control, assurance principles, quality improvement tools, metrology and inspection techniques.
  • Have the ability to produce quality work whilst working under pressure.
  • Able to work with little or no supervision.
  • Be willing to learn and take on board new skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to contribute in a team environment.
  • Sound understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Fully conversant in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Able to innovate systems and continuously improve.
  • Effective time management to priorities workload and deliver to deadlines.
  • Willingness to work flexibly outside of normal working hours.
