Service & Call Out Engineer

Location: North East
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum
Call Out Rota: 1 in 4 nights
Holiday: 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays

The Opportunity

On behalf of our clients in the North East, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Service & Call Out Engineer to join established and reputable lift companies operating across the region. This is a permanent role offering a competitive salary, structured call out rota, and long-term stability.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine servicing, maintenance, fault finding and emergency call outs on a portfolio of lift equipment. You will be working across a varied customer base, ensuring equipment is kept safe, compliant and operational to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance

• Respond to breakdowns and emergency call outs as part of a 1 in 4 rota

• Fault finding and first-time fixes where possible

• Complete all paperwork and reports accurately

• Liaise professionally with clients and site contacts

• Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Lift Service and/or Call Out Engineer

• NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering or equivalent qualification

• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills

• Full UK driving licence

• Reliable, professional and customer-focused approach
