Role Overview

Due to continued success and growth, we are looking to expand our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong, hands-on experience with industrial diesel engines. This role focuses on servicing, repairing, and overhauling diesel engines across both our own generator fleet and customer-owned generating sets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out on-site servicing of customer diesel generator sets at various locations across the UK.

  • Identify faults, perform diagnostics, and complete necessary repairs and functional testing.

  • Engage professionally with customers to ensure a positive service experience.

  • Service and maintain our internal hire fleet equipment.

  • Conduct pre- and post-hire inspections to ensure equipment is in top condition.

  • Perform load bank testing to verify generator performance and efficiency.

  • Maintain tidy, organised, and safe work areas, equipment, and vehicles.


Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential

  • Strong ability to apply temporary repairs to keep customers operational while awaiting correct parts.

  • Flexibility to work away from home occasionally depending on site requirements.

  • Willingness to participate in the company’s 24/7 call-out rota.

  • Adaptability to support wider operational activities, such as generator installations, fabrication tasks, and UPS battery build installations.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the diesel generator industry.

  • City & Guilds / NVQ in Engineering (or equivalent).

Desirable

  • Familiarity with equipment from a range of manufacturers.

  • Completion of manufacturer training courses.

  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.

  • Clean driving licence.
