Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lift Service Engineer to join our clients team in the North East of England. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of lifts and escalators across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and industrial sites. You will deliver exceptional service to ensure equipment operates safely, reliably, and in compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities

Service and Maintenance
- Perform scheduled maintenance on lifts, escalators, and other lifting equipment.
- Ensure all work meets industry safety standards and adheres to company policies.

Repairs
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Replace or repair faulty components, ensuring high-quality workmanship.

Call-Outs
- Respond to emergency breakdowns promptly, ensuring minimal disruption for customers.
- Participate in a rotational on-call schedule to provide 24/7 support.

Technical Inspections
- Conduct safety inspections and prepare detailed reports.
- Identify potential hazards and recommend solutions.

Customer Interaction
- Provide professional and courteous communication with clients.
- Advise customers on equipment care and upgrades where appropriate.

Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of all service and repair work.
- Complete job sheets, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience servicing and maintaining a variety of lift equipment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including LOLER and PUWER.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with escalators and platform lifts.
- Manufacturer training certifications.
- Good IT skills for reporting and job tracking.
