**Job Specification:**

I am now seeking a skilled and motivated Lift Service Engineer to join our team, responsible for servicing and maintaining lifts on a Croydon/Surrey route. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe operation, performance, and reliability of lift systems within that service area.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Servicing and Maintenance:** Conduct routine servicing, inspections, and preventive maintenance of lifts along the designated route, ensuring compliance with maintenance schedules, safety regulations, and manufacturer's specifications.

2. **Repairs and Troubleshooting:** Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and technical issues with lifts, performing repairs and replacements of faulty components as necessary to restore functionality and minimise downtime.

3. **Emergency Callouts:** Respond promptly to emergency service calls and breakdowns, assessing the situation, implementing temporary fixes if required, and coordinating with the service manager to schedule follow-up repairs and ensure customer satisfaction.

4. **Safety and Compliance:** Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards while performing service and maintenance tasks, prioritising safety and minimising risks to personnel and property.

5. **Documentation and Reporting:** Maintain accurate records of service activities, maintenance procedures, and parts inventory using electronic or paper-based systems, ensuring thorough documentation for each serviced lift and providing regular reports to the service manager.

6. **Customer Interaction:** Interact professionally with clients, building owners, and facility managers, providing updates on service activities, addressing inquiries and concerns, and delivering excellent customer service to maintain positive relationships.

7. **Technical Support:** Provide technical assistance and guidance to colleagues and apprentices, sharing knowledge and expertise, and participating in training programs to enhance skills and stay updated on the latest developments in lift technology.

**Requirements:**

1. **Experience:** Proven experience working as a lift service engineer, preferably with experience in servicing and maintaining lifts along designated routes or in a similar geographical area.

2. **Technical Skills:** Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with knowledge of lift systems, components, and maintenance procedures. Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of technical issues efficiently.

3. **Qualifications:** Relevant qualifications or certifications in lift engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field are advantageous. A valid driver's license is essential for travel along the designated route.

4. **Communication:** Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

5. **Problem-Solving:** Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.

6. **Flexibility:** Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, or overtime as required to respond to emergency callouts or meet service demands.
