Panel Wirer
Salary: £16.00 – £21.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Panel Wirers are responsible for equipment layout and basic wiring, working in line with company process standards and operating procedures. This role may involve work within Bench Assembly, LV, or MV switchgear environments.

Key Accountabilities
- Read and interpret basic schematic drawings, GAs, CDRs, and D&P drawings, and accurately identify components.
- Strip and crimp cables ranging from 0.75mm to 120mm using hand tools and machinery.
- Manufacture screen and Ethernet cables.
- Organise and prioritise work effectively to meet production demands.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and ensure the work area is well organised.
- Produce basic wiring consistently and to a uniform standard.
- Follow clear instructions and adhere to defined processes and operating procedures.
- Identify potential issues and propose practical corrective and preventative actions.
- Share skills and knowledge with colleagues when required.
- Achieve targets for productivity, quality, and output.
- Manage Kanban systems and control consumable stock levels.
This role operates within a feeder cell (panel assembly) and supports all manufacturing areas as required. Effective communication with team members is essential to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Education and Experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build confidence in stakeholders.
- Customer-focused approach, with the ability to understand and respond to the needs of internal and external customers, clients, and suppliers.
- Practical problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess options and make informed decisions.
- Demonstrates energy, commitment, and a proactive approach to achieving personal and company goals.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Experience wiring from schematic diagrams is preferred.
