Controls and Monitoring Estimating Engineer

Join a leading engineering solutions provider specialising in Power Management Systems (PMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), and SCADA automation. As part of our continued growth, we’re looking for a talented Controls and Monitoring Estimating Engineer to support our technical sales and tendering operations.

Role Purpose

The Controls and Monitoring Estimating Engineer will act as the main point of contact for all PMS/EMS/SCADA sales enquiries. You’ll combine your technical knowledge of control systems with commercial awareness to produce accurate, competitive, and compliant project estimates.

Key Responsibilities of a Controls & Monitoring Esimating Engineer

  • Serve as the primary contact for all PMS/EMS/SCADA tender enquiries.

  • Review consultant and client specifications, drawings, and documentation.

  • Develop optimal engineering solutions based on client requirements.

  • Identify all hardware, software, and licence needs with associated costs.

  • Estimate engineering and commissioning hours for project delivery.

  • Liaise with the supply chain to confirm pricing and lead times.

  • Coordinate with internal EMS engineering teams and external PLC contractors.

  • Prepare and present PMS/EMS/SCADA technical submissions (Tech Subs).

  • Maintain and update the company’s estimating platform with latest prices and data.

  • Attend client and site meetings as required during the tender process.

  • Ensure compliance with the company’s Business Management System (BMS).

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience with PMS, EMS, or PLC control systems.

  • Proficiency with leading control platforms such as Schneider, Mitsubishi, or Siemens.

  • Strong technical understanding of control system design and integration.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both internal and client-facing).

  • Strong organisational and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Previous on-site engineering or commissioning experience.

  • Exposure to estimating or tendering processes within an engineering environment.

Monday to Thursday (start / finish time):

07:30 – 09:00 and 16:15 – 17:45

Friday (start / finish time):

07:30 – 08:30 and 12:00 – 13:00
