HGV Mechanic/Engineer

Salary: £43,500.00-£54,000.00 per year (OTE 65k+) with a company vehicle.

What you'll be doing day to day:

• Carrying out diagnostic repairs.
• Performing regular 12-weekly inspections, servicing, and repair works on the fleet of HGV trucks.
• MOT preparations.
• Complying with time recording procedures and ensuring accurate completion of job cards.
• Collaborating with the team to carry out repairs on specialist equipment mounted on the vehicles.
• Organizing vehicle defects and arranging necessary parts for repairs.
• Operating in a tidy and safe manner.

What you’ll need to join the team:

• Qualification in heavy vehicle mechanics.
• Experience in the repair and maintenance of HGV vehicles within the commercial vehicle industry.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence. HGV licence would be an advantage.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday (Weekends available if wanted).
• Overtime (double pay).
• Rare on-call requirements for breakdown assistance (around once a month if needed).

Licence/Certification:

• Driving Licence (required).
• IRTEC (or ability to sign off vehicle inspections).

Job Type:

• Full-time.

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Must reliably commute or plan to relocate to Bishop's Stortford, CM22 6DR before starting work (required).

Experience:

• HGV Mechanical: 5 years (required).
• Driving Licence (required).
• IRTEC (preferred).
