Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Stairlift Engineer to join our Client on a Full Time, Permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of stairlifts in residential and commercial settings. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring customer safety and satisfaction. The Stairlift Engineer will work closely with clients to provide customised solutions, diagnose issues, and ensure stairlifts operate efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- **Installation of Stairlifts**: Accurately install stairlifts according to manufacturer guidelines and customer specifications, ensuring all safety standards are met.
- **Maintenance and Servicing**: Perform routine maintenance checks, including mechanical and electrical inspections, to ensure stairlifts are operating at optimal performance.
- **Troubleshooting and Repairs**: Diagnose and repair issues related to stairlifts, including motor malfunctions, electrical faults, and rail misalignments.
- **Customization**: Modify and adjust stairlifts to fit curved, straight, or spiral staircases and meet the specific needs of the customer.
- **Customer Support**: Provide excellent customer service, answering questions, explaining usage, and offering after-sales support.
- **Safety Inspections**: Conduct safety checks and audits to ensure all installations comply with health and safety regulations.
- **Record Keeping**: Maintain accurate documentation of all installations, repairs, and servicing tasks.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Stairlift Engineer or in a similar mechanical/electrical engineering role.
- Strong technical skills with experience in stairlift installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Knowledge of stairlift brands such as Stannah, Acorn, and Handicare is a plus.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations related to stairlift installations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
Education and Certification:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Certified in stairlift installation and repair (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license.
