Job summary
We require a static m&e supervisor to join our growing Energy Services team. Our Energy Services team operate 25 Heat Networks and Energy Centres across London. The work is a mixture of planned maintenance and repair works as well as reactive works from our call-out service. We have short term, medium term and long term objectives for the role.

Description of role
The m&e supervisor role is to deliver maintenance to SFG-20 and repair works and reactive services to a professional standard. The m&e supervisor role includes but not limited to the following:
Proactive and innovative approach to service delivery
Work to and be comfortable with the Birdsall culture
Work to ensure routine services, maintenance and repairs are carried out in-line with SLA’s
Mentor ‘engineers’ and ‘apprentices’ Build excellent working relationships with engineers
Be able you use and understand a CAFM system Deliver planned preventative maintenance to schedule
Assist with technical issues on site, providing technical support
Ensure all service reports are completed correctly and within the contract timeline Produce quality reports and quotations
Provide feedback, both to the team and management
Build excellent working relationships with customers
Communicate effectively with customers
Site asset management and verification for new and existing sites
Work to Company operational handbook and policies
Undertake Toolbox Talks
Form part of an on-call rota
Contribute to productivity & profit of your team Principle duties & responsibilities
Working on all types of mechanical & electrical assets
Mechanical duties: pump overhauls, valve and pipework repairs, cooling tower testing, vibration analysis, fixing leaks, HIU servicing, belt and pully alinement checks, fault finding, chiller and boiler checks, water treatment / temperature monitoring and constantly look for ways to reduce the overall cost of the production
Electrical Duties: motor testing, BMS monitoring, meter checks, fault finding and constantly look for ways to reduce the overall cost of the production
Servicing AHU's, FCU's, HIU’s, chillers, pumps, invertors, cooling towers, adiabatic coolers, underfloor heating, pipework and a good working knowledge of all other M&E & HVAC
Good understanding of L8/Legionella
Reactive call outs, trouble shooting and resolving faults M&E Supervisor
Diagnosis and repair systems malfunctions requiring specific technical knowledge as well as an understanding of time and material requirements
Produce quotations for additional works and repairs as required
Manage subcontractors and the company’s other technical resources
Oversee Health & Safety in line with our client’s systems
Qualifications
A time served mechanical / electrical apprenticeship City & Guilds or equivalent Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
NHC HND (desirable) Minimum six years’ experience in the field

Confident work on with plastic fusion welded pipework, Press fit, screwed and soldered pipework and fittings
Confident in carrying out pump overhauls including bearing changes, seal replacements
Understand BMS systems
Previous experience in the electrical and mechanical environment 6 years minimum
IT literate and be comfortable working with an electronic works management system (CAFM)
Be a good problem solver and ability to fault find and rectify Have good technical knowledge whilst also being able to be the face of the company and able to speak with clients when required Comfortable speaking with clients when required Have a positive ‘Can Do’ attitude
