Our Client  are one of the largest independent companies in the field of lifting equipment engineering in the UK. We provide the industry with a complete service for all their lifting equipment needs and have many years of experience in providing mechanical handling solutions.

 

This exciting opportunity is for a Workshop Manager to join our client .

 

Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30am-5pm  ( Overtime available at x1.5 & x2 )

 

£40,000k Negotiable based on experience

 

We are looking for a Workshop Manager (with Lifting experience) who has a hands-on approach to all tasks with the ability to fault-find and problem solve in a fast-paced reactive environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of the workshop, staff, and stock movement.

This will be the perfect role for someone with Foreman experience and knowledge of Hire & Lifting.

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have good communication and organisation skills
  • Have a working knowledge of all aspects of workshop equipment, tools and machines
  • Understand the importance of health and safety
  • Considerable experience within an operational role, preferably gained within the lifting/hire industry
  • Ensuring that the depot is performing against all agreed targets/budgets and managing all costs within
  • An understanding of lifting equipment, hire products and the customer base within the Warrington area would be beneficial
  • Strong diligence with the ability to identify and provide solutions for potential challenges within the workplace
  •  

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Liaising with the office and co-ordinating the workshop / depot staff for their daily jobs
  • Picking parts and organising vehicles for the Depot staff to get them out on the road on time each day
  • Monitoring Depot staff productivity against times planned and updating the office and customers accordingly
  • Being the first point of contact for any issues the Depot staff report
  • Maintaining a safe and tidy workshop at all times
  • Monitoring consumable levels in the workshop and vans and placing orders accordingly
  • Monitoring stock levels of materials, maintaining accurate stock records
  • Liaising with management to ensure all relevant quality issues are addressed
